Cardhu Whisky at Taperia La Mina — Elegant Speyside Single Malt
Our Cardhu Whisky at Taperia La Mina is a premium Speyside single malt Scotch whisky with a history as rich as its flavor. Produced at the Cardhu distillery in the Scottish Highlands since 1824, Cardhu has been described by whisky experts as one of the finest and most elegant Speyside malts — smooth, fruity, and wonderfully balanced. At our restaurant in Benidorm, Cardhu is our single malt recommendation for guests who appreciate the subtlety and refinement of a great Scotch.
The Cardhu Distillery
Cardhu was founded by John Cumming and his wife Helen Cumming in 1824 on the Mannoch Hill near Archiestown in Speyside. Helen Cumming was one of the first women to legally run a distillery in Scotland, and her legacy of quality and determination continues to this day. The distillery sits in a narrow valley near the River Spey, where the pure water and unique microclimate contribute to Cardhu’s distinctive character. It is one of the cornerstone malts in the Johnnie Walker blend.
Tasting Cardhu
Cardhu Gold (the standard expression) pours a bright golden-amber color. The nose is fresh and inviting with notes of honey, green apple, vanilla, and a hint of heather. On the palate, it is smooth and medium-bodied with flavors of sweet malt, ripe pear, light floral honey, and gentle oak spice. The finish is clean, gentle, and slightly sweet — a whisky that is incredibly easy to drink and endlessly pleasing. This accessibility is what makes Cardhu so popular among both newcomers and seasoned whisky drinkers.
A Perfect Digestif
Enjoy Cardhu neat or with a splash of water to open up its aromas. It pairs beautifully with aged cheeses and chocolate desserts. Discover Speyside whisky heritage at Taperia La Mina.
