Beefeater Gin at Taperia La Mina — London’s Iconic Dry Gin
Our Beefeater Gin at Taperia La Mina is London’s most iconic dry gin and one of the world’s most respected gin brands. Distilled in London since 1863 by James Burrough — a British pharmacist who perfected the original recipe — Beefeater has earned its reputation as the quintessential London Dry gin through its perfect balance of juniper, citrus, and spice botanicals. At our restaurant in Beefeater is our gin for purists — guests who appreciate the classic juniper-forward character that defines great gin.
The Beefeater Recipe
What makes Beefeater special is the nine botanicals in its secret recipe, which has remained unchanged since 1863. The core flavor comes from juniper berries, complemented by angelica root, angelica seeds, coriander seeds, liquorice, almonds, orris root, Sevilla orange peel, and lemon peel. These botanicals are steeped in a neutral grain spirit for 24 hours before distillation, allowing the flavors to infuse fully. The result is a gin with a bold, juniper-forward character balanced by smooth citrus and gentle spice — the benchmark London Dry style.
The Classic Martini
Beefeator is the gin of choice for many bartenders when making a classic dry martini — its bold juniper character stands up beautifully to vermouth and ice. At Taperia La Mina, we also recommend it in a classic gin and tonic with premium tonic and a twist of lemon. Discover London Dry gin heritage at Taperia La Mina.
