Rueda Verdejo

Rueda Verdejo Wine at Taperia La Mina — Fresh, Aromatic Spanish White

Our Rueda Verdejo at Taperia La Mina is a fresh, aromatic white wine from the Rueda region in Castilla y León. Made from indigenous Verdejo grapes, this is one of Spain’s most acclaimed and distinctive white wines — known for its vibrant herbaceous aromas, crisp acidity, and satisfying texture. Served by the glass at our restaurant in Benidorm, Rueda Verdejo is the perfect white wine for guests who appreciate freshness and character.

The Rueda Region

Rueda, in the high plateau of Castilla y León, has been producing wine since the Middle Ages. The region sits at 700-800 meters elevation, where hot days and cool nights create the ideal conditions for Verdejo grapes to develop intense aromas while retaining crisp acidity. In 1980, Rueda became one of the first Spanish regions to receive official Denominación de Origen status, and today it is recognized as one of Spain’s premier white wine regions.

Tasting Verdejo

Rueda Verdejo pours a pale straw-green color with bright, youthful reflections. The nose is intensely aromatic — fresh-cut grass, fennel, white fruit, and citrus blossom. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and medium-bodied with flavors of green apple, lemon zest, white peach, and a characteristic bitter-almond finish that is the hallmark of the Verdejo variety. It is a wine of remarkable freshness and personality — immediately distinctive and utterly refreshing.

The Perfect White Wine for Tapas
